Entrepreneurial Leadership Discovery Program (ELDP)

We would like to advise you that we have extended the application deadline for the Entrepreneurial Leadership Discovery Program (ELDP) to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 as many interested applicants have encountered difficulties in reaching their nominators/references during the Easter and Sham El Nessim holiday period.
We would appreciate you sharing this e-mail as well as the attached program announcement and application forms, as broadly as possible within your organization and partner networks, as well as with any students and/or alumni of your institution or programs.
What is the ELDP?
ELDP is a highly intensive training program designed to support Egyptian youth under 26 years of age who have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and want to start innovative new businesses or social enterprises.  The program aims to build the confidence and professional skills of these aspiring youth and to create a generation of entrepreneurs who are able to employ effective leadership practices.  By the end of the program, participants will have acquired the skills and know-how to act on their ideas and to pitch their new ventures to potential partners and investors.
When will the ELDP be held?
The program will commence in July 2011 with sessions and field visits scheduled over the summer period – sessions will be held in the evening and on weekends to accommodate recent graduates who have work commitments.
What is the application and selection process?
Interested candidates need to answer YES to the following questions before considering applying:

1. ·         ARE you under the age of 26?
2. ·         ARE you bold and see failure as a means to reaching your goals?
3. ·         ARE you a risk-taker by nature and enjoy taking on new challenges?
4. ·         DO you have an innovative idea and are not sure how to take it to implementation?
5. ·         DO you have what it takes to launch a profitable business or social enterprise
