U.S. Summer Innovation Institute for Young Egyptian Science Leaders
In celebration of US-Egyptian collaboration in science, education and research, the Institute of International Education is pleased to announce the U.S. Summer Innovation Institute for Young Egyptian Science Leaders. The Institute, which will take place in the United States during the period of September 2-23, is funded by a grant from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. The Institute of International Education (IIE) Regional Office in Cairo is administering the Institute in partnership with the IIE Southern Regional Center in Houston, Texas in close cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Cairo’s Cultural Affairs Office.
The U.S. Summer Innovation Institute for Young Egyptian Science Leaders is open to Egyptian university students who have a strong interest in and aptitude for innovation and entrepreneurship. Students should be studying in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (S.T.E.M.) field. Ten students will be competitively selected to participate. The Institute will feature a series of highly interactive meetings, discussions, and observations and site visits with leading individuals involved in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. Participating students will have the opportunity to visit three U.S. cities: Washington, D.C. and Houston and Austin, Texas. The Institute’s segments will focus on each city’s unique strengths and resources to give participants a broader understanding of the entrepreneurial experience in the U.S., with emphasis placed on site visits and hands-on learning experiences, and an exposure to American culture.
